Cholera is an acute diarrheal illness caused by infection with the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. It is primarily transmitted through contaminated water and food, particularly in areas with inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene practices.

Cholera bacteria, Vibrio cholerae, typically range in size from 0.3 to 0.6 microns. Most Everpure filters have a nominal pore size of 0.2 microns or larger, which means they can block cholera bacteria. Not only does Everpure Pentair water filtration block bacteria, the submicron filter technology filters dirt and particles as small as 0.2 microns while the Micro-Pure II filtration media inhibits the growth of bacteria on the filter media to help increase product life.

Our prediction is that Cholera outbreaks will become a feature of the future in SA.  Out of approx. 800 Sewerage plants in SA 80% are not functioning as they should, letting raw sewerage into  drinking water supply systems.

Don’t let the industry fool you, by telling you, you can use any filter. We provide commercial-grade filtration solutions. Whether you have a business in food service or looking for filtration for your home. We have the solutions for you to protect your business or home from cholera in South Africa.

If you are specifically looking for a water filtration system to address cholera or other microbial pathogens, it is advisable to select a filter that is certified by reputable organizations, such as the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), for microbiological reduction. These certifications provide assurance that the filter has been tested and proven to meet specific standards for removing bacteria, including cholera, from water.

Certified by NSF international

The majority of our cartridges are certified by NSF International. This certification means that the contaminant reduction claims certified are true and accurate, the materials of construction do not add anything unwanted into the water, that the system is structurally sound, and that advertising claims are true and accurate. This certification provides assurance to the user that the system has been independently evaluated to confirm its performance. The certification is displayed on the cartridge’s label along with the claim(s); for example, chlorine reduction for 1,000 gallons. The majority of our certified products have been submitted for testing under NSF/ANSI Standards 53 and 42.
