Water is fundamental to life, but not just any water—clean, high-quality water. Throughout history, civilizations have thrived by settling near clean water sources, and advanced piping systems date back to ancient cultures like Egypt, Greece, and the Maya.

Water filtration has evolved too, with early methods using simple materials like cloth, limestone, or even heating water under the sun. Today, water filtration systems are far more advanced. Pentair Everpure has played a key role in this evolution throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

1930s: Everpure Brings Quality Water Home

In 1933, C.B. Oliver founded Everpure in Chicago, IL. While water treatment wasn’t new, Oliver’s development of precoat technology set a new standard, bringing superior water quality to households across America.

1960s: Expanding into the Foodservice Industry

As the brand grew, Everpure expanded its reach by introducing filtration systems for restaurants. The Everpure T-9 became a popular choice, recognized for its reliability in delivering clean water.

1970s: Innovations That Changed the Industry

Everpure introduced three groundbreaking innovations: the Micro-Pure® precoat, a quick-change head, and an innovative cartridge design. This trio of advancements revolutionized the water treatment industry.

1980s: Dominating Foodservice Filtration

The Everpure High Flow CSR Quad System took center stage in the 1980s. This uni-mount, multi-head system offered greater convenience and higher flow rates, becoming a staple in the foodservice industry.

2000s: A New Era with Pentair

By 2003, Everpure’s global sales exceeded $60 million. In 2004, Pentair, a leader in water technology, acquired Everpure, further expanding its portfolio and setting the stage for future growth.

2010s: Embracing Digital Innovation

As projects demanded more customization and quicker turnarounds, Pentair introduced the Everpure Sizing Tool. This digital tool allowed engineers and specifiers to easily select the right system based on application, size, and flow rate, streamlining the specification process.

2020s: Total Water Management for Comprehensive Solutions

Launched in 2017 and expanded into the foodservice market by 2020, Pentair’s Total Water Management (TWM) program offers an end-to-end solution. TWM covers everything from selecting the right system to installation and ongoing maintenance, ensuring optimal water quality from start to finish.

In 2023, Pentair Everpure celebrated its 90th anniversary. While the industry has evolved over the decades, one thing remains constant: Everpure continues to deliver high-quality drinking water to users around the world—today and into the future.
